Antique Crucifixes and Medals 9
Antique Crucifix, French Christ the King 1800s Unusual! $125
Rare 1800s antique crucifix made of brass or bronze with beautiful crowns at the tips of the cross. Length is 4 1/4" and although it is a big crucifix it is not heavy as the brass/bronze is not thick like the inlaid crucifixes. This was a souvenir from a sacred site and says "Souvenir de la Mission" stamped into the reverse. This would have been a treasured relic from a pilgrimage to a cathedral or other sacred place. There is a hole drilled in the bottom crown, probably to hang a medal or relic from. This beautifully preserved piece has been kept polished and is obviously well-loved. Would make an incredible crucifix to wear as a pendant!
SOLD! Thank You! Large Antique Crucifix w Skull and Crossbones, Inlaid $95
Wonderful early 20th century over 4 1/2" inlaid crucifix! This is a great sturdy and heavy crucifix with inlaid wood- possibly ebony as it is quite dark with grain visible. Most likely belonged to a priest or nun and although it was found in France, it could be German in origin. There are no markings on the crucifix. The back shows the inlay and a crown of thorns in the center. The metal is most likely solid nickle silver Very little wear- the INRI scroll is a little loose See photos for details.
